Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need before your visit — our age policy, healing and aftercare, and the common questions we hear most.

What’s your age and ID policy?

Here’s how consent works at our studio:

  • 16 or older — you can sign your own consent form.
  • 15 and under — certain piercings are available with parental permission. A parent or legal guardian must be present and sign the form for you.
  • Nipple piercings — 18 and over only.
  • Ages 16–17 — we still recommend parental permission for navel and nostril piercings.

Please bring valid photo ID to your appointment. For anyone under 16, a parent or guardian needs to be there with their ID to sign. Not sure whether a piercing suits your age? Message us and we’ll let you know.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Walk-ins are welcome daily — there may be a short wait depending on piercer availability. You’re also welcome to book online anytime; just note the piercing(s) you’d like in the booking description so we can have everything ready.

Which piercings do you offer?

We offer ear piercings (lobe, helix, flat, snug, conch, rook, tragus and industrial), plus nostril, eyebrow, navel, and nipple (18+). You can see full pricing on our pricing list.

We don’t currently offer mouth, genital, dermal, septum, or daith piercings.

How long do piercings take to heal?

It varies by placement and by person:

  • Lobes — about 6–12 weeks
  • Navel, eyebrow & nostril — about 3–6 months
  • Cartilage & nipples — about 4–12 months

Everyone heals differently depending on their health and aftercare. Downsizing around 5–8 weeks in is an important part of healing well.

How do I take care of my new piercing?

The basics: wash your hands first, spray with sterile saline once or twice a day, don’t twist or pick at it, keep your starter jewelry in until it’s healed, and come in to downsize around 5–8 weeks.

Full instructions — healing times, cleaning steps, downsizing and troubleshooting — are in our aftercare form:

We can’t provide medical advice — if you think you have an infection, please see a doctor.

What is downsizing, and do I need it?

Yes — it’s an important step. Your starter jewelry is a little longer to leave room for swelling. Around 5–8 weeks in, once the swelling settles, we swap it for a shorter piece so the angle stays straight and the piercing heals cleanly. It’s a quick visit — just book a downsize appointment when you’re ready.

Can I bring my own jewelry?

Not for a new piercing. All initial jewelry has to be sterilized in-house and be implant-grade, so we can only pierce with jewelry from our own studio (we use quality titanium). We can’t use jewelry brought from elsewhere for a fresh piercing, since it hasn’t been through our sterilization process — this keeps you safe and healing well.

Once your piercing is fully healed, you’re welcome to bring your own jewelry or choose something from our jewellery collection — just ask your piercer.

What should I avoid while my piercing heals?

A few things that help you heal smoothly:

  • Stay out of pools, lakes, baths and hot tubs until healed — or cover with a waterproof bandage.
  • Avoid hoops (except daith) and dangly jewelry during healing.
  • Don’t change your jewelry until it’s fully healed (downsizing aside).
  • Keep your bedding clean and try not to sleep directly on a new ear piercing.
